This comment section is both funny and sad because it’s obvious that many Gadites have rallied together to discredit what Ruth said. You even liked each other’s comments (how cute). It’s clear that most of you came here already defensive, ready to “fight back,” even though no one was attacking you in the first place.
A piece like this should prompt introspection, but it seems many of you didn’t even take the time to properly digest the article before responding.
I’m still waiting to see non-Gadite members rush in to defend the fellowship the way you have, but I doubt that will happen—because what Ruth said is true. I say this for three reasons: I personally experienced some of the things she mentioned while on campus (and so did many others); there was a clear instruction from my fellowship not to associate with Gadite gatherings (not members) because of doctrinal concerns; and when I reposted this piece, most responses from non-Gadites supported Ruth’s perspective. I remember comments like, “This table! I’m sat,” and “God help His church. Everything this person said is true.” As Scripture says, out of the mouth of two or three witnesses, truth is established.
Sometimes, we need constructive criticism to help us see more clearly, and that’s exactly what Ruth offered. Unfortunately, instead of reflecting on her message, many of you chose to pick apart her words—much like how Scripture is sometimes taken out of context in your gatherings. That kind of response often suggests that there may be some truth in what was said.
If you truly want the truth, do what she did. Ask people outside the fellowship what they think. Carry out your own honest survey and see for yourselves. But I must warn you: you may not like what you find.
Wow! I love your emotional maturity. Ex-Gadite here, the fact that this is even a thing is concerning. I once left RCCG, but I don’t consider myself ex-RCCG.
One thing everyone should know if they want to talk to a Gadite is that you have to be emotionally mature, because they attack your person. They say you have hidden motives and are filled with bitterness. Now, this can easily anger some people because even if it is untrue, they are not emotionally equipped to handle such pressure.
However, once you agree with all the things they say and show it has no relevance to the doctrine being right or wrong, they shut down, because they lose the power to bully you at that point.
Focus on Christology (the dirty of Christ), and you have lost them. I’m sharing this, because this might help someone.
Do not succumb to such weak and feeble insults under the guise of religion, but stand on love, stay on Jesus! Only the true Jesus can break the false one that is being preached there.
I think it’s only fair to leave a comment to be seen alongside the pinned one (even though I have made several other comments)
For context: I am a member of another denomination and ALSO a Gadite (This is for claims that say it is “several denominations” against Gadites)
If anything, upon reflecting, all this discourse has done is strengthen my resolve even more.
Gadites is an expression of something far greater than you imagine. So if you think it starts and ends with Gadites, then you are mistaken. Gadites is present on campuses, yes, but it is part of a myriad of churches and other non-denominational expressions aligned under this same greater thing, across the world.
If the goal is to “expose” then singling out Gadites alone is an incomplete work. Why not expose all others while at it?
An army is arising. Only here? No, But here too? Yes.
(Before someone says I’m implying we’re the only ones with this “great thing” or “in the army”, then that interpretation says more about the reader than me, the writer.)
We’re being called heretical a lot, and honestly, that changes nothing.
Jesus Himself was deemed blasphemous and heretical by the religious leaders of His time — the same leaders who were custodians of the Scriptures. So calling something heretical doesn’t automatically mean you’re using God’s Word as the standard; it may simply mean you just don’t agree with it.
Some of you actually attend churches pastored by people who agree with Gadites and its “cohorts” —whether openly or privately— but you wouldn’t know. These things are not always announced loudly.
Cult accusations? The early Christians suffered far worse labels and consequences.
You don’t get to decide what Truth is. God does —through His Word and His Spirit.
I’d also recommend The Final Quest by Rick Joyner. One of the things it exposes is how much of what we think we do “for Jesus” is actually done for ourselves. This is also why you’ll rarely —if ever— find a Gadite publicly calling out another ministry.
It might interest some of you to know that Scripture speaks of ranks in the new heaven and new earth and not everyone will be the same. And yes, here comes the familiar shout: “heresy!”
I remember saying that this present heaven was not the reward of a Christian and neither is the one to come, and being called heretical for it too.
Why not let Jesus be the standard and the Judge?
If you think these things are too far-fetched, then allow those who want to go the extra mile —even if it makes them look foolish and crazy— to do so!
There’s been a lot of talk about ostracism. But do you know what an average Gadite faces on campus the moment they’re identified as one? Automatic dismissal.
Judgment formed entirely by rumours.
No room to be known. No chance to be understood.
If I wanted to adopt a victim mindset, I could say we are the ones being ostracised. But that’s not my point.
If you genuinely want answers, ask honest —or dishonest— questions to the pastors or directly to the head pastor. He is accessible.
On claims that we “twist Scripture”: oh Yes! we do. Until every drop of life and blood is squeezed out of it.
I may sound crazy at this point, but I’m honestly just tired.
If you are my friend and you think you’ve lost me, this is the only thing I will mark as absolutely FALSE. I was found. I think a fellow Gadite would want that too.
And wherever it is that you have found yourself, stay faithful there. Please God there. Faithfulness is what matters.
For me? This is where I live and die and this is my final word on the matter (I hope..because I honestly have more to say)
Oh yes, on the claim that we only listen to Kenneth Hagin, Omo, you can’t please everyone o, If several authors are recommended (which actually are e.g Kathryn Kuhlman, Kenneth Copeland, Bishop Oyedepo, This woman that wrote Battle field of the mind… Yes Joyce something.. only to name a few) people would still say “Are these not to much?” “Won’t you be confusing doctrines?”
(My soul says “do you abeg”)
Our only Doctrine is Salvation of the Soul through the Faith of the Son.
Yes I agree that Jesus was deemed heretical. But He was (is) a heretic to the Judaists! Not to Christians!
Jesus - the first Christian was NOT a heretic to Christians, but to other religions.
But this is pure scriptural hersey according to the Book. The same Book you claim to follow.
You can be heretic to a religion you don't follow, then if you're heretic to the same religion you say you follow, then you aren't a follower of the religion but merely a cosplayer.
Your try so hard to imitate the real thing z but there's a difference between 'CHANEL" and"CAHNEL"
You claim that EGFM, Gadites, and the similar churches teach"Meat Word". I'm assuming you mean that they teach the true Bible.
But the Bible you say you preach and learn from, directly contradicts this"meat word".
I was once a Gadite, so I understand where you're coming from
But the reason I'm not one anymore is not because I couldn't handle the toughness of the"meat word" and preferred the"milk word". It was simply because I opened my Bible and let the Holy Spirit ALONE explain it to me. I didn't go to the"Momo's" and"Fathers" to explain something to me.
Why? Because there is no spiritual hierarchy between humans. Jesus made sure of that!
If the Lord reveals something to you, you don't need to go to anyone to confirm it because we are ALL now Priests. This isn't the Exodus where God spoke to the Israelites through Moses
In Christianity, there is no "high priest" because we ALL are high priests
We don't need to go through someone to have access to God because we can talk to Him directly.
Please do not have the idea that you are facing the same persecution and opposition that Jesus faced, because that's just wrong.
The same idea they planted into your head, they planted into mine.
The belief that Christ, now, is fully divine and fully human was once labelled heretical. The giving of prophecy was also labelled heretical. Even parts of what later came to be called Gnosticism were debated and condemned as heretical.
All of which are now widely accepted in the church today.
And still, not everyone agrees.
All of this happened long after Christ died.
So this isn’t simply a case of Christ vs the Pharisees. It has always also been body of Christ vs body of Christ, with both sides sincerely claiming fidelity to Scripture.
There is no imitation here.
The call is simple, to follow the Bible to its core.
Every single thing is in the bible, nothing taken out of context.
And the “true” Bible is not taught only in Gadites. If your church teaches the “true” bible, then feel free to say so, Jesus will be proud. I don’t know why a church making that claim seems to ruffle a lot of feathers.
If Covenant University says it gives the best education, I don’t expect OAU to feel bad, except to say the same if it is also true to them.
At no point did I tell anyone to meet anybody except pastors if they have questions.
If you want to study the Bible alone, you are free to do that.
I will study the Bible and go to church — to hear from pastors and to fellowship with the brethren. If someone prefers to learn alone, then there’s no need for church for them.
And yes I believe we’re all priests and kings, but we need the five fold ministry.
No one is planting ideas. So I don’t know who is doing the planting
I am soo glad i found how to pin this comment!! GOD BLESS YOU SOO MUCH!
Goddd! THISSSS! THIS. THIS.
I love every word you used, and even mentioning how they liked each other's comment and rallied round the misconstruing of the piece.
One of them even said i said speaking and interpretation of tongues is unscriptural, and 11 people liked the comment. 12 people read a piece and that was the point they got from it? It's so amusing.
Thank you so much for this. Hopefully they take it seriously, and stop cuddling each other with the ever positive reviews of fellow brethrens.
Omo! I'm just coming back from that YouTube video🙂 and it's much more crazy than I thought. Give me koboko guy!😭 I remember attending a concert and I saw that grey bearded man make alter call and I thought "uhmn praise Jesus" and I was really inching forward during prayers so one of the pastors could lay hands on me... something wey my pastor for house never do😭 and then I got closer and felt my skin crawl terribly. After getting free access to the ministers by scoping an acquaintance, I bailed immediately I got the chance to.😂 And now I see that? Dodged a missile!
Okay, this has to be the funniest comment I've read so far😭😂😂
You're soo real for this. I could literally hear your exclamations😂. The part about your skin crawling, you should read the revelation of another write about them. His name is Dunamis Williams, he wrote "Gadites - a honest review". I think you'd like it!
Left to me, the Gadites are a Neo-mormon group, intertwined with doctrines of the Grail movement, using the veil of a Bible believing gathering. Friends who are not even born-again and have gone to their meetings, have come to me with "oshi lọ n shey ni bẹyẹn" (it's rubbish they're doing there) and then all they have narrated is all that's in this write-up.
And it's not Unilag o, that's OOU. I'll check their outfit in FUNAAB and then visit their hq to draw my final conclusion and weapon for rebuke.
You teach hyper-grace, eternal security, blasphemy hits the roof, Disorder is met with applause... you wey we sabi your parole dey blast 'tongues' wey una pastor dey preach, keys to the kingdom, definitely not the one Jesus went to prepare, because now you're aiming for a higher one.
Kuku join Grail or knock on the doors of the Mormons... atleast we don't persecute them for being fake christians... they own their fraud, own yours, or come to Christ.
I have a thousand and one things to say about them from very personal dealings. The teaching on how you receive eternal life bit by bit? The way they treat you if you decide to step out of their fellowship? The way they twist scriptures? Creation story? How do they always go to the extreme in their teachings?
The things I have heard from people all around? The way they tell you about how the Holy Spirit interprets the Bible to them, but the same doesn't apply to you? They claim depth, but they are very far from that. Maybe it is all an abyss.
I was part of the leadership of a fellowship at the University of Ibadan, and I can testify to whatever it is you have to say. It is scary how people can be that dishonest with God's word. It is very, very subtle but very dangerous and venomous.
And if you dig deep into it, you will see teachings where they tilt towards gnosticism and adoptionism. Omo, my eyes saw sha, and it was a stretch.
And once you drop a comment or observation whether on twitter, YouTube or anywhere, they will surely come for you. It is a disaster waiting to happen and they keep invading campus fellowships. Then they quote a chapter of Papa Hagin's book to back up their entire doctrinal lies.
This is why we're doing everything we can to make sure this doctrine doesn't reach the next generation. And if it does, it shouldn't get there without clear bruises. More people need to know about them. Especially the freshers they poach in schools
It is a mess. And they have so many expressions all under the same mandate of confusion. You avoid the Gadites and fall to Soteria, or the City gate or whatever they call it. They also have very nice graphics and are pretty sharp in their prophetic insights.
They basically have all it takes to lure people in.
I have experienced someone saying eternal life is different from everlasting life and i have a friend who is an Ex- Gadite say some of the things that you’ve mentioned
Maybe I’ve not hung around a lot of Gadites or even long enough… but this isn’t how the ones around me act😂🤲🏾
I’ve lived with 2 - 4 of them for more than a year now… and although I’ve been really relaxed in my faith and I do a lot of things contrary to their belief, they don’t ostracize me or even try to preach to me
Maybe it’s because of my “I don’t take bullshit” attitude which discourages them from approaching me😂😂, I wouldn’t know but it’s just never happened this way and I’m surprised at this
I’d probably do some investigations myself in my free time but really, this has been an amazing piece, Ruth!
I experienced this in my year one days in Unilag and oh my, I’m so glad I clocked it very early.
I was so confused by their “deep” teachings. I was so suffocated by their so-called “love and care”. All these to mention a few. It felt like a cult and when I tried to leave? Bro, I saw shege!!!
I'm so glad God opened my eyes to see and I also had people who agreed with me that I wasn't crazy and helped me get out of there.
A lot of my friends realised it too then but guess what? They are “too scared” to leave or worse “too committed to leave” and some don't even know how to leave. (Something wey be cult).
I have so many things to say.
But for now, I'll say, “It is well with the body of Christ”.
Momos? Gadites? Meat word? I'm sorry but what is a meat word? Welp where is my tea🌚🤭. I'm sat for this conversation though. I didn't know that Christian cult like activities have infiltrated the universities.
However I have so many questions.. what is a secret meat word and milk word? How is Jesus not God? How can you not have Eternal Life?!! Is Eternal life for beans abi for garri??
This was a great essayy, love the commentary. Gadites in my school is not like in unilag(we are few), it is a good church with good preaching. However, GBS made me a little uncomfortable, for one I hardly understood what the pastor said( during his 6 hours preaching), he was talking about concepts I have never even heard of before and there is this whole thing where the whole church kneels down to greet the head pastor when he enters the auditorium. I don’t know if the latter is weird or I’m the problem cause I don’t go to a lot of churches.
From the heading, I knew this was my topic. I attended Gadites meetings a few times, and here is everything I have to say about them.
1. The doctrines:
I do not believe in a lot of the things I kept hearing. Why is everything I know suddenly wrong? I also hated the continual calling of preachings by other people wrong. Plus, the whole milk-and-meat thing. They said it’s knowledge of salvation and I need strong meat, but the word there sounded more like soured milk—that people were being convinced was strong meat.
2. The fake love:
If you didn’t belong to the community, you were seen differently. A friend got really close to me. He was tight, tight gee, and then he popped up with the “attend Gadites meeting” question. What wouldn’t I do for my friend, righttt?
I went, I got nothing. I told him that I’m not led to stay there. For people who scream “follow the leading of God,” he said to me, I should shut down the feeling and keep coming till I’m convinced. What do you mean? Make I not follow my own leading of Christ? I should keep coming till I’m brainwashed, you mean.
The pastor tried to sweet-talk, pop in my DM, all friendly and graciously till I couldn’t keep up the pretense. I told my friend I no do again. He clearly told me I should pick between becoming a member and being his friend. The absolute height of emotional blackmail. Jeez!
I really went back and wondered if they were the real point of the friendship—convert me? Wo! I took my stand. Suddenly, even the great friendly pastor never came to ask him if I’m well. Someone that called me every week and always ended with, “I hope you’d come for the meeting,” suddenly never cared. So the whole friendship was a conversion scheme.
3. Their methodology:
I believe the Bible asks that we go to the world and preach Christ. Heaven is 100% happy when a sinner repents. But I never heard them preach Christ. What if a first-timer there isn’t even born again? But no, you have a higher message than every other body of Christ.
You see that poaching strategy? Very crazy. Enter to another church space and start a student fellowship that claims that they are one with you, and instead of focusing on what the fellowship goal is, your mission is to be speaking to the members for another gathering. Lol.
When that member didn’t attend fellowship, you didn’t call, but once they aren’t in Gadites meeting, top problem.
I read my Bible, and it says the devil comes into a place to steal, kill, and destroy what a person builds. I would boldly beat my chest and say, even if nothing else is wrong, that strategy is from the devil.
There are more things to say, but me, my friends, and my household would stay away from Gadites. Our local church is enough.
I heard a snippet one time that confused me. It felt like adding what wasn't there and making what was plain to sound deeper than it is. I thought it was weird. Now I can tell its deeper than what i imagined it to be. Thanks for the information.

Love you, brethren —every single one of you 😝
You have been brainwashed
Yes!, by the blood of Christ, I strongly recommend if you haven’t.
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free
Jesus Christ is the only truth
Gadites stop twisting the scriptures
Lol! You seem like you just want to point accusations and fight.
Not interested.

Can't wait to see your weapon for rebuke, and your LAST LINE. Like they should OWN IT!!
Thank you for readingg🤍
God bless you for this!
Mehnn
My sister took💗

There’s no lie in this article
I have experienced someone saying eternal life is different from everlasting life and i have a friend who is an Ex- Gadite say some of the things that you’ve mentioned
I hope more people become aware of everything they've been doing
Thank you for reading🤍
Well done✨
They're actually the kindest you'd ever meet. I don't have issues with them personally....but the doctrine is a whole different ball game
Can't wait to hear the results of your investigation though😂🥂
Thank youu!
I love this boldddd write up!!!
May Jesus save Unilag from GadaGada people.😭🤲
Hmmm...
Great writing. Though it seems like more than the claims, you have a personal beef with these people o. I can feel the hate 😂
I love the people, but I hate the ideology🤗
I can’t believe this is the first time I’m hearing of this.
There's more...this piece is the tip of the iceberg
Momos? Gadites?
Omo, it is giving Black Israelites junior 😂
😂😂
See ehn😂😂
Heaven knows the gymnastics they're doing with the Gospel
Tagging all Gadites to please answer🫶🏽
This was a great essayy, love the commentary. Gadites in my school is not like in unilag(we are few), it is a good church with good preaching. However, GBS made me a little uncomfortable, for one I hardly understood what the pastor said( during his 6 hours preaching), he was talking about concepts I have never even heard of before and there is this whole thing where the whole church kneels down to greet the head pastor when he enters the auditorium. I don’t know if the latter is weird or I’m the problem cause I don’t go to a lot of churches.
You're not the weird one, I promise. Even Jesus' sermon on the mount was and is understood from the greatest to the least
Yes, my take! 😊
Peace 🤝👌
"shut down the feeling and keep coming till I'm convinced" is soo disturbing
I'm happy you clocked it!! May God help His church for real
I heard a snippet one time that confused me. It felt like adding what wasn't there and making what was plain to sound deeper than it is. I thought it was weird. Now I can tell its deeper than what i imagined it to be. Thanks for the information.
